Congratulations to the
2009 Regional Scholars
The MidValley Pop Warner
Board of Directors wish to extend their congratulations to all the
participants in the Little Scholars program, especially those players
that have received these prestigious regional and national honors.
The
All-American Scholar program is Pop Warner's way
of rewarding our top student-athletes. It is
also the only time an individual Pop Warner
student-athlete will be recognized for their
achievements, all other awards recognize teams
only.
Regional scholars are invited to special
regional awards banquet in Reno, Nevada, on
March 20. National first and second team
scholars will be announced in April and invited
to a banquet in Pennsylvania over Memorial Day
weekend.
The 5th Annual Pacific Northwest Regional
Scholastic Banquet for 2009-2010 season will be held
at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Reno/Sparks on March 20.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m.
There will be raffles and prizes for the scholastics
honorees, so please plan to attend and
register now.

Way to go 2008
scholars! This picture was taken at the regional
scholars banquet on Sat., March 21 in Emeryville, Cal.
These scholar-athletes from MidValley Pop Warner,
Willamette Valley Pop Warner and Rogue Valley Pop Warner
are all grins with MVPW President Bruce Roos. Several of
our kids came home with US Savings Bonds ranging between
$500 and $1,000.

Little Scholars Information and Forms
Who can apply to be an All-American?
 |
Students in the fifth grade or
higher who have a 96% or higher for the entire year (2008-2009). |
 |
In addition to the grades, Pop
Warner National is looking at students who are actively involved
in their community. Examples include: babysitting, volunteering
with the elderly, leadership programs, team captains, soup
kitchen, Sunday School, reading to younger classmates,
principals list, academic awards, heart walk, cancer walk, play
an instrument, drama, first aid card, animal shelter, etc. |
 |
Time frames for activities are not
required; if an activity was just for 30 minutes, it counts. |
Mail your
All-American Scholastic Application to:
MVPW Scholastics
PO Box 1112
Albany, OR 97321
Forms must be typed. Please do not attach award letters.
The addendum is a critical part of the consideration process. This is where
extracurricular activities and community service information is reported.
Applications without an addendum will not be considered.
Pop Warner National will evaluate your forms and determine which team your
student-athlete qualifies for. Send an e-mail to
louann.spevacek@mvpopwarner.com with
questions.
Also, please visit the national Web site for
Pop Warner's All-American Scholastics program at
www.popwarner.com/scholastics/allamericanprogram.asp to find answers to your
questions and get details on requirements.
